Apollo Dermatology is proud to announce the introduction of SkinMap, an innovative total body photography (TBP) system designed to revolutionize how we monitor your skin health over time.
As part of our ongoing commitment to early detection and prevention of skin cancer, SkinMap allows our team to capture detailed, high-resolution photographs of your skin from head to toe. These images create a secure, comprehensive visual record of your skin’s appearance, helping us identify even the most subtle changes between visits.
Why SkinMap Matters
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States, but when detected early, it is highly treatable. With SkinMap, we can detect new or changing moles and lesions at the earliest possible stage—often before they can be seen with the naked eye. This technology is particularly valuable for patients with:
- A personal or family history of skin cancer
- Numerous moles or atypical (irregular) moles
- Fair skin, light eyes, or a history of sunburns
- A desire for the most advanced skin monitoring available
What to Expect
Total body photography is quick, painless, and non-invasive. During your SkinMap session, a series of standardized images are taken in a private setting, excluding sensitive areas. These photos are then encrypted and stored securely, accessible only to your dermatologist and authorized clinical staff.
At each follow-up visit, new images can be compared against your baseline to monitor for any changes that may warrant closer evaluation or biopsy.
Our Commitment to You
Under the direction of Dr. Arjun Dupati, a board-certified dermatologist and board-certified Mohs micrographic surgeon, Apollo Dermatology continues to lead with precision, compassion, and innovation. The addition of SkinMap reinforces our mission to provide the highest quality skin cancer surveillance and dermatologic care in Michigan.
We’re excited to offer this powerful tool to our patients and to continue advancing the early detection and prevention of skin cancer.
