Insurance at Apollo Dermatology – What to Know for 2025

Insurance and the Cost of Your Medical Visits: Understanding How it Works

Understanding Insurance in 2025

As we move into 2025, please be reminded that your insurance plan will restart at the beginning of the year, which means your copays, co-insurance, and deductibles will reset. We want to ensure you understand what this means for your upcoming visits:

Copay: This is a fixed amount you pay at the time of your visit. It is set by your insurance plan and can vary depending on the type of visit or specialist you see.

Co-insurance: This is the percentage of the cost of your care that you are responsible for after meeting your deductible. For example, if your co-insurance is 20%, you would pay 20% of the covered services, and your insurance would cover the remaining 80%.

Deductible: This is the amount you must pay out-of-pocket before your insurance begins to cover your medical expenses. Once your deductible is met, you will generally pay less for care, but co-insurance may still apply.

Pharmaceutical Benefits: Insurance formularies change yearly. Please be aware that the cost for your medications may change dramatically each year at the pharmacy.

We encourage you to review your insurance coverage ahead of time to better understand your responsibilities and to reach out to your insurance company

if you have any questions about what to expect during your visit. Our staff will do their best to assist you with insurance based questions, but each insurance plan is very nuanced and the final authority on your specific insurance plan is your insurance company.

Sincerely,

The Apollo Dermatology Team
